Register the Bluetooth device

It is necessary to register the Bluetooth audio player or smartphone/cell-phone in this unit before using the Bluetooth function.

You can register up to 10 Bluetooth devices.

NOTE

  1. Up to 10 Bluetooth devices can be registered. If an attempt is made to register the 11th Bluetooth device, the Bluetooth device connected on the earliest date will be deleted to register the 11th one.
  2. This unit is compatible with the Apple Easy Pairing function. When an iPhone connected via USB terminal previously is connected again, an authentication dialog appears. Performing operation for authentication on this unit, or iPhone registers the smartphone as a Bluetooth device.

    Press the HOME button.

    Touch at the top of the screen.
    Touch HOME on the popup menu.
  2. HOME screen appears.
  3. Touch .
  4. Touch [SETUP].
  5. SETUP Menu screen appears.
  6. Touch [Connection & AV].
  8. Touch [Device List].
  9. Touch .
  10. Bluetooth pairing waiting dialog appears.

  14. NOTE

    1. If an Apple CarPlay device is currently connected, the Apple CarPlay device will be disconnected.
    2. When neither Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, nor a Bluetooth Hands-Free phone is connected, pressing and holding the [VOICE] button displays Bluetooth pairing waiting dialog.
  15. Search for the unit ("DMX*****"/"DAX*****") from your smartphone/cell-phone.
  16. Complete steps 7 to 9 within 30 seconds.
  17. Operate your smartphone/cell-phone according to the displayed messages.

  18. Confirm the request both on the smartphone/cell-phone.

  19. Input the PIN Code in your smartphone/cell-phone.

    PIN Code is set to “0000” as the default.

  20. Touch [Yes].
  21. When data transmission and connection have completed, the Bluetooth connection icon appears on the screen.

NOTE

  1. When registering the iPhone that is available for Apple CarPlay wirelessly, a confirmation message appears.
  2. [Yes]: Displays the Apple CarPlay screen for wireless connection.
  3. [No]: Apple CarPlay is not connected. When using Apple CarPlay, select the iPhone to be used as the [Apple CarPlay] source. See Switch the connected device.
  4. The device name selected on step 7 can be changed. See Change the device name.
