Connecting to the Car Audio System

The Kenwood car audio system ready for KENWOOD Music Control/ KENWOOD Music Editor allows you to search for or play a song according to a song name or playlist.
When Connecting for the First Time

Some types of Android devices allow you to select a USB connection mode.
Set the USB connection mode to MSC (Mass Storage Class).
If you set it to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), your Android device cannot be connected to the car audio system.

For the setting method, refer to the instruction manual that comes with your Android device.

  1. Start KENWOOD Music Control application.

  2. Tap on [ ] to display the Slide menu.

  3. Select [Preference ] [Auto output] or [Output right now] of "Analyzed data output settings" to output the song information. →Settings

    • Auto output: Checkmarking this will output the latest song information automatically when it has changed.
    • Output right now: Tapping on this will output song information.

    If pop-up message "Connect Android device to Windows PC and execute KMCHELPER.exe." appears when information for car audio/navigation system is output, go through the following steps: →KMC Helper application

  4. Connect your Android device to the car audio system using a USB cable.

    The car audio system recognizes it as KENWOOD Music Control/ KENWOOD Music Editor Media.
    For how to use KENWOOD Music Control/ KENWOOD Music Editor Media, refer to the instruction manual that comes with the connected device.

Notes
  • When an external memory (SD card) is installed, only the songs recorded in it can be played.
  • Noncompliant files such as WMA format files are not contained in song information.
  • AAC-LC/LTP (.m4a, .aac) and PCM/WAVE (.wav) format files may sometimes be unplayable. For the compliant file formats, refer to the instruction manual that comes with the connected device or our website (→Click here).
  • Video files is not included in the song information.
